SVBA

From Bro Cary Gomer. . .

I pray that all is well with you as you come to the end of this week and pray for you as you prepare for the proclamation of God's Word this Lord's Day. I wanted you to be aware of some upcoming Association events.

1) The next Executive Board Meeting will be August 4th, 6pm, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 5305 Griffith Hwy, Whitwell, TN 37397. We have a good deal to discuss and are looking forward to all being together again. It has been a long time!

2) The SVBA Pastor Fellowship Breakfast will now be bi-monthly with our next meeting on August 8th, 8am, at Anthony & Theresa's 6028 TN-28, Dunlap, TN 37327. Because of some other scheduling conflicts, the next 2 will be off of the regular schedule (November 14th & January 9th), but after that we will be on a regular schedule of the 2nd Saturday every other month. Our 1st meeting in June was a great time of fellowship and encouragement. I would love for you to join in as your schedule allows.

3) Our SVBA Disaster Relief team has already been at work here in the Valley. We have had 2 days that we have worked on one project and we have 2 more projects in the works. While we anticipate call outs in other areas of Tennessee and beyond, the goal is also to serve here in the Sequatchie Valley. There will be an opportunity to be trained by Tennessee Disaster Relief coming up August 15th in Lawrenceburg, TN. If you or anyone from your congregation would like more information, please let me know.

4)  The month of August is the time for collection of new shoes and socks for Buckner International's "Shoes for Orphan Souls" drive. Once again, the SVBA office will be a drop-off location. Donations may be brought by the office from now until August 26th.

5) Lastly, we are planning an SVBA Associational Picnic for October 10th, 12-3pm, here at the Association Building. There will be games (corn hole, basketball, among others) and, as we are Baptists, there will be food. We are still working through some of the particulars but please announce to your church and make plans to join in.

You are prayed for, brother, by name. I know well that ministry, while rewarding, is also a tremendous burden as we seek the Lord's direction for our lives personally and for the church. May the Lord bring much fruit through your faithful service to Him and His church!

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 "Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will do it."
