What to Expect

We'd Love to Meet You!

Visiting any church can be a difficult and uncomfortable experience.

  • Where do I sit?
  • What do I wear?
  • What will be expected of me?

These are normal questions anyone would have when visiting a church, and we want to help put your mind at ease.  Our desire is that your visit to Mineral Springs Baptist be friendly and enjoyable for the whole family! We want you to experience Biblical teaching and preaching, loving and accepting people, and a real sense of being "at home." If there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable, please let us know!

What should I expect?

Our building is located 5305 Griffith Hwy (old East Valley Road). We’re just north of Mullins Cove Road. There are no designated parking spots, so park wherever you would like. There is handicap parking on the top of the lot next to the ramp leading into the building. When you enter the building, you will be in a small vestibule that leads to the main sanctuary. Please sit wherever you would like, there are no saved seats at MSBC.

Our current service times are – Sunday School 10:00am to 11:00am, Worship Service 11:00am to 12:00pm and our Sunday Night Prayer Service and Bible Study is from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

I have children that may cry or be noisy?

We like to leave this decision up to the parents.  After all, they’re your children and we want you to be comfortable.

Crying children do not bother the pastor nor anyone else at MSBC.  A church with no crying babies is a dying church and we always welcome young ones at MSBC.

However, if you desire, MSBC does have a fully stocked and staffed Nursery that is available if you have small children.  Please ask the pastor when you arrive about the nursery and he will make all the necessary arrangements.

Will I be expected to give an offering?

No. We didn’t invite you for your money. We do not have a traditional offering time during the service.  There is no “passing the plate” at MSBC.  Your giving, or tithing, is between you and the Lord, not you and the church.  At no time will you be pressured, or made to feel uncomfortable, with an offering/tithing time.

Is there a Dress Code?

We have no required "dress-code" at MSBC, for either members or guests. You will find that, at any service, you will see a all types of different outfits, from suit-and-tie to jeans-and-t-shirt — and everything in between. Our main goal is that you feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here!

What is your service style?

Traditional.  We usually sing 4 to 5 traditional hymns, have a regular “prayer-request” time during the singing and also a short “scripture reading”.  When our song service has finished, the pastor will usually preach for 20 to 40 minutes, however long he is led by the Holy Spirit, then conclude with a time of invitation.

What bible do you teach\preach from?

Our pastor does not limit the preaching to a certain translation.  Our pew bibles are the ESV translation, but he may preach from either the English Standard Bible, the Legacy Standard Bible, the King James Bible or the New King James Bible.  He will however limit the bibles he uses to the Word-for-Word (Formal Equivalence) translation style.
